Fitzroy Hall is a beautiful heritage home in a quiet location in Historic Downtown Charlottetown. This stately Victorian house was built in 1872 and for a time, one of the rooms on the main floor was used as a bank. Banker Alexander Brown’s wife was Georginna Coles, a daughter of the Hon. George Coles, a Father of Confederation and a Premier of the Island.

We are thrilled to have been awarded with a Heritage Award from Museum & Heritage Prince Edward Island, “in recognition of an outstanding contribution to the preservation of the Heritage of Prince Edward Island,” and the City of Charlottetown “Heritage Preservation Award.”
Fitzroy Hall offers spacious rooms, many with fireplaces, and provides modern comfort while cherishing the past. There are three suites and five air-conditioned bedrooms, each with full private bath (four with Jacuzzi), wood floors, and period furnishings. Guests are welcome to relax in one of our sitting rooms or outside in our garden. A kitchenette with microwave and bar-fridge is provided for your convenience on each floor.
On the main floor of Fitzroy Hall are two sitting rooms, each with a marble fireplace, where guests are welcome to relax, read a book, or play the piano. Our guests are also welcome to take a stroll though our flower gardens, or sit outside on the balcony. As well, a large formal dining room is located on the first floor.
A full hot breakfast with several choices served each morning for Inn guests. Our elegant air-conditioned dining room features original 1937 wallpaper, a large mahogany dining table that can seat up to fourteen guests comfortably, cast iron Victorian fireplace, Grandfather clock, and large windows to let the morning sunshine in.
Fitzroy Hall is within walking distance to City Hall, the Confederation Centre of the Arts, Province House, the Charlottetown Waterfront, Victoria Park, Government House and Gardens, Historic Beaconsfield, several great restaurants and dinner theaters, boat cruises, boutique shopping, the Harbour Hippo and great walking and hiking trails. It’s also just a short drive (about half an hour or less) to the Prince Edward Island National Park that features pristine beaches stretching as far as the eye can see, the world famous Anne of Green Gables House in Cavendish, several Anne attractions, and many beautiful golf courses.
Your stay at Fitzroy Hall includes a full hot breakfast, hair dryers and toiletries, iron and ironing boards and white fluffy bathrobes for each guest. All units are smoke free and air-conditioned. In addition, you’ll have access to highspeed WiFi and computer, free on-site parking, our relaxing second floor balcony, kitchenettes on both floors and ice on the main floor. Bicycle and luggage storage are available upon request.
Feel free to pre-order a nice bottle of wine and a bouquet of flowers or a romantic carriage ride through Historic Charlottetown or out to Victoria Park for your stay. Ask about our suite packages, as well as our two or three day packages, and weekly rates, available upon request.
