Stay, dine and relax at the historic Georgetown Inn. This award winning Inn (most recently winner of the TAPEI Hospitality Award), is centrally located in the quiet fishing village of Georgetown, the Capital of King’s County The Inn, which has a view of the local harbour, was built as a private residence in 1841, by shipbuilder and politician Honourable Joseph Wightman. Over the years it had been a bank, post-office, Masonic Lodge and hardware store. In 1995 it became an Inn and is now operated by it’s present owners Dawn Sadoway and Joel Short. The Inn features eight unique guest rooms, with four piece private bathrooms and all the other modern conveniences. All of which are designed to make your stay a positive and memorable experience.
Our tastefully decorated and furnished Inn, features eight spacious and unique guest rooms, two of which have a view of the harbour, and patio doors to one of two decks. All rooms have cable TV, DVD, phones, 4 piece ensuite, air conditioning, ceiling fans, wireless internet, ironing board and iron, hairdryer, and other bathroom amenities. There is lots of street parking and a lockable shed for cyclists to store their bicycles. The Inn is pet and smoke free and Children friendly. Experience a great Maritime getaway in our historic Inn.
Furnished with a mixture of antiques and modern furniture, guests have access to two decks, giving them a great panoramic view of the harbour, a screened in porch on the front to relax and drink a beverage, a cozy parlour to read a book or play a board game.
The Georgetown Inn has developed an impressive reputation as an outstanding place to dine. Whether it’s for the complimentary full gourmet breakfasts served in the morning to guests between 8 and 9 am or for the evening dining experience in the intimate dining room open to the public from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Award winning Chef Joel Short, offers a unique dining experience putting a creative touch to local and sustainable products. In the summer, reservations are recommended. A private dining room is available for groups of 10-15. In the afternoon, join the hosts for a complimentary beverage and some in-house prepared snacks.
The Inn is centrally located in the heart of historic Georgetown, on the Points East Coastal Drive. The Inn is across the street from the King’s Playhouse, (the second oldest Theatre in Canada), across from a working fishing harbour, boat cruise operation, within walking distance to a public beach, clam-digging, public flower gardens, several shops on the boardwalk, and other heritage buildings. The Inn is 5 km from The Rodd Brudenell and Dundarave Golf Courses. Two of the best courses on the island. Also located nearby are a spa, kayaking and horseback riding stable. The Confederation Trail goes through Georgetown, so many cyclists and hikers find the Inn a great place to make their headquarters for their holiday. Georgetown is within 20-30 minutes of the best beaches on the island, 30 minutes to the Wood Islands Ferry or Ferry to the Magdalen Islands. It is also only 10-15 minutes to Montague, 35 minutes to Charlottetown, thus it combines the quietness of a rural village with easy access to the main attractions of the island.
